CONVERTING TIME TO MONEY -Victor Okoniya Speaks

We are familiar with the slogan "TIME IS MONEY", but the big dollar question is "How do you make money out of your time?"

One major challenge that we face as Nigerians is that of proper Time Management. Firstly, we often find it very difficult to keep to time from my observation, the reason for this is not because we are lazy but simply because we've allowed the "AFRICAN TIME" Syndrome to affect every area of our daily lifestyle. This is not encouraging because a proper way of life obviously involves a lifestyle characterized
with proper time management and discipline.
This is the main reason why a person who has an appointment for 9:00am would want to leave his or her house at 9:00am so as to get to the place by 9:30 - 9:45am, believing strongly that the person he/she is going to meet will not likely be available by 9:00am. Apart from our inability to keep to time, we also face the challenge of time wastage and this is another major reason why many are poor in our society today. We tend to be too relaxed and less time conscious in our daily activities.

How well you manage the 24hours you have determines to a large extent how successful you will be in your business, academics, career and even in your religious life.

One thing you should know is that each time that passes counts and can never be recovered again, so always try to make every time useful.

Here are some tips to help you make the best use of time;

  • Always have a plan for your activities for each day.
  • Strictly obey this plan and use alarms from your mobile phone as reminder.
  • There is a hanging procrastination mindset that may set in life, try not to procrastinate or carry over a day's activity into another day.

  •

  • Make every time useful and always remember that "Time is Money", endeavor to make the best use of it.
